ADCN Award Ceremony with Pierre Audi

ADCN

Develop and produce a programme that makes everyone in the room immediately aware of where they are, the tradition they are part of, and the legacy they are stepping into. Create an experience that celebrates and amplifies the people working at the very highest international level, and share their inspiring vision on excellence, award-winning work, and the importance and necessity of design.

Together with cameraman Rob Hodselmans, we created a film in which Patrick Roubroeks enters into conversation with the iconic Pierre Audi, artistic director of the Dutch National Opera & Ballet, who elevated the company to the very top of the international stage.

The audience in the room fell completely silent as the master spoke, drawing them into his world, where all artistic output is ultimately the sum of individual qualities coming together to create something greater. He congratulated the winners and wished them an enjoyable evening, while also reminding them of their responsibility to continue their work the following day—work that is always a Gesamtkunstwerk of many crafts. He left them with the inspiring insight: “design should be a framework for meaning,” a message that continued to resonate long after the event.

The film was widely shared, received overwhelmingly positive responses, and is now used as educational material at schools where creativity is central to the curriculum.
