Create and produce the program for the award ceremony of the Cultuurfonds Prize, celebrating and honoring the winner and their work in a meaningful and impactful way through culture.
For XSAGA, it has become a cherished tradition to creatively and logistically shape the award ceremony of the Cultuurfonds Prize since 2010. The program’s objectives are twofold: in addition to the substantial monetary award, the ceremony serves as an extra gift to the winner, celebrating the work for which they are being recognized. This celebration begins with the selection of the ceremony’s location, which, since 2019, has been thoughtfully aligned with the winner’s work.
Additionally, the event provides an excellent opportunity for the Cultuurfonds to showcase the diversity of cultural offerings in the Netherlands, embodying their ambition to be a leader for culture.
This results in a theatrical program featuring a variety of performances by diverse artists, interspersed with powerful speeches and, where appropriate, specially produced films by XSAGA Video. The event is bookended by celebratory receptions upon arrival and after the ceremony, where the winner’s essence is thoughtfully reflected in the smallest details—such as specially curated catering or a mini photo exhibition.
Up until 2023, the Cultuurfonds Prize was officially presented by Queen Máxima.
