Groningen served as the backdrop for King’s Day 2018, featuring a surprising programme in which the Royal Family was introduced to the city’s many faces. The event placed strong emphasis on social themes such as natural gas extraction and poverty.

A large-scale production by, with, and for all residents of Groningen. During a two-hour walking route through the historic city center, XSAGA made grateful use of prominent sidekicks from both the city and the wider region. XSAGA developed the creative concept and design, and was co-responsible for the production, which was broadcast live by NOS and watched by more than 2 million people.
