Opening Heinz Innovation Centre

Heinz

Develop a creative concept that instantly communicates to all attendees that the brand-new Heinz Innovation Centre in Nijmegen is deeply rooted in the long-standing corporate values and traditions of founder Henry John Heinz, the visionary behind this globally operating food company.

XSAGA brought Henry John Heinz to life—quite literally. Dutch leading actor Porgy Franssen stepped into the role of the Pittsburgh-born founder (1844) and visited the state-of-the-art centre in the Netherlands, where he approved of what he saw.

The activation resulted in, among other deliverables, an emotional film in which several of his most distinctive quotes were naturally woven into the narrative. At the end of his ‘inspection tour’—during which he confirmed that even the ketchup still doesn’t pour too quickly—he appeared live before the audience to join King Willem-Alexander in turning the key within the Heinz logo, symbolically granting the centre in the Netherlands royal approval to commence its important work.

The film was subsequently distributed internationally and continues to be used within the company as an onboarding tool to introduce new employees to the values and traditions of this global organisation.
