How do you celebrate (and commemorate) 200 years of the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution (KNRM) in a way that both honors all volunteers and donors while also increasing awareness of the KNRM and its mission?
To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution (KNRM), XSAGA was commissioned to create a theatrical production under the creative direction of Gerben Bakker. For this production, titled Symphony of Water, XSAGA Video was asked to create a series of films that captured the extraordinary essence of the KNRM: the organization, its volunteers, and its donors.The films formed an integral part of the live performances at the Nieuwe Luxor Theatre in Rotterdam, bringing the personal stories behind the organization to life in a powerful and emotional way. The complete show, including the films, was broadcast by various regional broadcasters and NPO 2 Extra, and remains available to watch via NPO Start.
