Organize the festive arrival of the very first Airbus A321neo, titled ‘Koninginnepage’ (Swallowtail).
KLM is transitioning towards a cleaner, quieter, and more fuel-efficient form of aviation. A significant step in this process was the arrival of the very first Airbus A321neo, named ‘Koninginnepage’ (Swallowtail) to reflect its transformative meaning.
This historic moment was celebrated with 400 guests at Hangar 12. The aircraft arrived from Hamburg accompanied by live musical performances, together with KLM CEO Marjan Rintel. She personally addressed the guests, along with Airbus Executive Vice President International Wouter van Wersch and the Dutch Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management, Barry Madlener.
To share relevant knowledge with the guests in an engaging way, a quiz was hosted by Zita Schellekens (Senior Vice President Sustainability & Strategy at KLM), who served as the event’s host.
The event came to an end with a captivating performance by stilt-walking butterflies, followed by the minister symbolically receiving a scale model of the aircraft.
