LOEY Awards 2022

After 12 years, the mission of Stichting LOEY had been accomplished: the LOEY Awards had stimulated online entrepreneurship by annually honouring the ‘Leading Online Entrepreneur of the Year’. The final edition had to be an inspiring celebration—looking back at all previous editions while also offering a hopeful perspective on the future.

Entrepreneurs are today’s explorers: they venture beyond familiar paths and discover new territory. But where can we still discover new frontiers? The answer lies beyond our planet. That is why we took guests on a journey into space: the award ceremony took place in the planetarium of Artis, beneath a breathtaking 360-degree projected starry sky.We created an impressive and inspiring programme featuring poetic reflections by Johan Fretz and performances by the unique music collective Fuse.The evening continued with a networking reception in the brand-new Groote Museum. A unique venue in the heart of Artis, which—like LOEY—was founded from a strong social mission (“promoting knowledge of natural history”). It provided the perfect atmosphere for guests to continue conversations, celebrate, and dance late into the evening.
